Organizational Structure

Office Bearers
1. At the Sabhathalam, the Chairman, President, Vice Presidents, General Secretary,
two Secretaries, Treasurer, and the Spiritual Advisor shall be the office bearers. One
of the two secretaries must be a woman.
2. At the Sabhathalam, there shall be one Vice President from every Eparchy except
for the Eparchies represented by the President, General Secretary, two Secretaries,
and Treasurer. 30% of these Vice Presidents must be women. If there is no female
representation from the Eparchies of the outgoing President, General Secretary, and
Treasurer through the rotation system, female representation shall be ensured from
those specific Eparchies’.
3. From the Eparchial level down to the Unit level, the President, two Vice Presidents
(one woman), General Secretary, two Secretaries (one woman), Treasurer, and the
Spiritual Advisor shall be the office bearers.

Unit Level:
1. Unit Assembly
The general body of MCA members at the Parish/Mission centers of the
organization shall be known as the Unit Assembly.
2. Unit Executive Committee
The Unit Executive Committee shall consist of the following members:
i. Unit Spiritual Advisor
ii. Unit-level Office Bearers
iii. Five Executive Members elected as representatives to
the Clerical District (at least two of whom must be
women).
iv. The Trustee and Secretary of the Parish/Mission centers
shall be invitees without voting rights.

Ecclesiastical District Level:
1. Ecclesiastical District Assembly
The Ecclesiastical District Assembly shall comprise the following
members:
i. The Ecclesiastical District Spiritual Advisor.
ii. The Spiritual Advisors and Office Bearers elected from
the respective Unit Assemblies within the Ecclesiastical
District.
iii. Five members specifically elected from the Unit
Assemblies as representatives to the Ecclesiastical
District.
iv. The outgoing District President, General Secretary, and
Treasurer (who shall serve without voting rights).

2. Ecclesiastical District Managing Committee
The Ecclesiastical District Managing Committee shall consist of the
following members:

i. The District Ecclesiastical Advisor.
ii. The District-level Office Bearers.
iii. Five members specifically elected as representatives to
the Eparchial level (at least two of whom must be
women).
iv. The Unit-level Spiritual Advisors, Presidents, and
General Secretaries.
v. The outgoing Ecclesiastical District President, General
Secretary, and Treasurer (who shall serve without voting
rights).

The District President shall also serve as the Chairperson of the Managing
Committee.
3. Ecclesiastical District Executive Committee
The Ecclesiastical District Executive Committee shall consist of the
following members:
i. The Ecclesiastical District spiritual Advisor.
ii. The District-level Office Bearers.
iii. Five Executive members elected from the Ecclesiastical
District as representatives to the Eparchial level (at least
two of whom must be women).
iv. The outgoing Ecclesiastical District President, who shall
serve as an invitee to the Executive Committee (without
voting rights).

Eparchial Level
1. Eparchial Assembly
The Eparchial Assembly shall comprise the following members:
i. The Eparchial Spiritual Advisor.
ii. The Office Bearers and Spiritual Advisors elected from
the respective Ecclesiastical District Assemblies.
iii. Five Executive members specifically elected from the
Ecclesiastical Districts as representatives to the
Eparchial level.
iv. Three MCA members nominated to the Eparchial
Managing Committee by the Patron.
v. The outgoing Eparchial President, General Secretary,
and Treasurer, who shall serve as special invitees
(without voting rights).
2. Eparchial Managing Committee
The Eparchial Managing Committee shall consist of the following
members:
i. The Eparchial Spiritual Advisor.
ii. The Eparchial-level Office Bearers.
iii. Five Executive members, including three members
specifically elected from the Eparchy to the Sabhathala
Managing Committee (at least two of whom must be
women).
iv. The Spiritual Advisors, Presidents, and General
Secretaries of the Ecclesiastical Districts.
v. Three MCA members nominated by the Patron.
vi. The outgoing Eparchial President, General Secretary,
and Treasurer, who shall serve as special invitees
(without voting rights).

The Eparchial President shall also serve as the Chairperson of the
Managing Committee.
3. Eparchial Executive Committee
The Eparchial Executive Committee shall consist of the following
members:
i. The Eparchial Spiritual Advisor.
ii. The Eparchial-level Office Bearers.
iii. Five Executive members, including the three elected to
the Sabhathala Managing Committee (at least two of
whom must be women).
iv. The outgoing Eparchial President, who shall serve as an
invitee to the Executive Committee (without voting
rights).

Sabhathala Level
1. Sabhathala Assembly
The Sabhathala Assembly shall comprise the following members:
i. Chairman.
ii. Sabhathala Spiritual Advisor.
iii. All Eparchial-level Spiritual Advisors.
iv. 25 representatives elected from each Eparchial Assembly
(including Executive Committee members).
v. 5 representatives each elected from Mission Centers and
Overseas Mission Centers.
vi. Three members nominated to the Sabhathala Managing
Committee by the Sabhathala Patron.
vii. The Presidents of other lay organizations within the
Malankara Church (MCYM, MCMF, Vincent de Paul,
Legion of Mary) shall be special invitees (without voting
rights).
viii. The outgoing Sabhathala President, General Secretary,
and Treasurer shall be special invitees (without voting
rights).

30% of the total membership in the Sabhathala Assembly must be reserved
for women.
2. Sabhathala Managing Committee
The Sabhathala Managing Committee shall consist of the following
members:
i. Chairman.
ii. Sabhathala Spiritual Advisor.
iii. Sabhathala-level Office Bearers.
iv. Three members specifically elected from each Eparchial
Assembly (at least one of whom must be a woman).
v. All Eparchial-level Ecclesiastical Advisors, Presidents, and
General Secretaries.
vi. Three MCA members nominated by the Sabhathala Patron.
vii. The outgoing Sabhathala President, General Secretary, and
Treasurer shall be special invitees (without voting rights).
viii. Lay office bearers of joint Catholic forums (KCF, AICU,
KCC, CCI),office bearers of various committees under the
leadership of KCBC and CBCI, and the Secretary of the Malankara
Catholic Major Archiepiscopal Synod Laity Commission shall be
special invitees (without voting rights).
3. Sabhathala Executive Committee
The Sabhathala Executive Committee shall consist of the following
members:
i. Chairman.

ii. Sabhathala Ecclesiastical Advisor.
iii. Sabhathala-level Office Bearers.
iv. Three members elected by the Sabhathala Managing
Committee.
v. The outgoing Sabhathala President shall be a special invitee to
the Executive Committee (without voting rights).

Women's Representation:

There shall be 30% women's representation in all
elected committees of the MCA.
